Thomas Wilkinson Cordon was born on 4th January 1879 at Blyton, Lincolnshire.

He married Mary Jane Mason (born 20th March 1884, at Swinton, Yorkshire) they were married in 1899 at Gainsborough, they went on to have 8 children, 1 sadly died in early childhood or in infancy. Their children were William b1899, Percy b1901, Charles born 21st January 1903, Jim Mason born 18th February 1905, Tom Mason born 23rd January 1907, Betsy born 9th December 1908 , Hary born 5th April 1912 and Albert born 1917.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 2 Bridge Street, Gainsborough, Tom 32 yrs is a moulders labourer, he is living with his wife Mary Jane 28 yrs and their children, William 11 yrs, Percy 8 yrs, Chalres 8 yrs, Jim 6 yrs, Tom 4 yrs and Betsy 2 years of age.

Military history

Private Thomas Cordon enlisted at Gainsborough, he served with the 6th battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he landed in the Bakans on 22nd September 1915, he was killed in action on 28th November 1915
