Reginald was the son of Reginald Gustavus Lincoln Anderson a school headmaster and Blanche Gertrude Anderson. Reginald and Blanche had three sons Arthur E P, Bernard Gordan and Reginald Dudley Bawden. In 1911 the family was living at Ashfield House York Street Wakefield.
Reginald first served as a sergeant in the Lincolnshire Yeomanry. He was later commissioned and became 2nd Lieutenant in the 15th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment. His medal index card shows he first entered a theatre of war in France on 14th September 1914.
Redan Ridge Cemetery No 2 Beaumont-Hamel, France.His brother Bernard Gordan Anderson a Lieutenant in the 10th battalion Lincolnshire regiment was a Military Cross winner and died on 8th August 1916 aged 25 years and is buried in Wakefield Cemetery
