Nicholas Lee (junior) was born in 1885 in Calverton the son of the late Nicholas Lee (senior) a butcher of Calverton. and Clara Lee.
His father Nicholas Lee (senior ) was born in 1852 he died 7th Jan 1892 aged 40 yrs his mother Clara Lee was born in 1860 at Calverton, they were married in 1879 at Nottingham, they had 6 children.
In the 1901 census he is 16 yrs and living with his mother Clara Robinson 40 yrs a widow.(she has remarried)and his step father John Robinson 28 yrs.
In the 1911 census he is shown as being 26 yrs,single a barman at the White Lion, Calverton which is run by his step father John Robinson .
Private Nicholas Lee enlisted in Arnold and served firstly with the Northumberland Fusiliers with service number 5678 and then transferred to the Yorks and Lancaster Regiment.He was killed in action in France om 19th April 1918 having no knwn grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot memorial, Belgium
