Mansfield Reporter, 10 November 1916: ‘Suttoners Killed. Widow and Six Children Left. Private Charles James Reeves, 7, Bowne-street, Sutton, aged 22, a single man, who enlisted in the Sherwoods in September, 1914, is amongst the slain. Lance-Corporal JC Hooley, 23, Parliament-street, Sutton, 38 years of age, who enlisted in September 1914, was killed in action on October 20th.
