Harry Shaw was married to Polly Shaw (born 18th May 1884) they lived at 3, Hickling's Yard, Cambridge Street, Radford, Nottingham, they had a son Ernest Harry Shaw born on 7th October 1917.

Following his death his widow Polly was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 15th October 1917 it was raised t 18 shillings following the birth of his son Ernest

Military history

Private Harry Shaw enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Radford, he served with the 17th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment he died on 16th March 1917 and is buried at Vlamertinghe Military Cemetery, Belgium. Plot 6. Row C. Grave 1.
