Henry Hobkinson was the son of William Hobkinson and Jane Price who married in the Holywell registration district in Flintshire in 1879. Their two children were: William (b.1879) and Henry (b.1884). The family lived at: Elmhurst Lodge, Tuffley, Gloucestershire [C.1891]; 1 Brunel Terrace, Derby Road, Lenton [C.1901]; 14 Radford Grove Lane, Radford [C.1911]. William Hobkinson, a groom and coachman, died at Nottingham, aged 50, in 1895. Jane Hobkinson described herself as a housekeeper in the 1901 census. She died at Nottingham in 1932, aged 76.
Enlisted at Nottingham; killed in action; as his body was not recovered his name was added to the Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
