Eakring - St Andrew's Church Choir

The inscription on the brass plaque reads, 'To the memory of John Henry Rowland, James Osborne and James Arthur Little, members of the choir of this church who fighting for their country fell in France in the years 1916, 1917 and 1918 respectively.' John Henry Rowland was not killed in France but was wounded at Gallipoli and died onboard a hospital ship on 22 August 1915. He was buried at East Mudros Military Cemetery, Lemnos, Greece.
