Low Marnham - St Wilfrid

St Wilfrid's Church, Holme Lane, Low Marnham, Tuxford, NG23 6SL. Grade I listed. Low Marnham is recorded in Domesday Book although the present church dates from the 13th century. In the Middle Ages the manor was held by the Chaworth family. St Wilfrid's was last used in 1908 and was declared redundant in 1986. It is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The war memorial, a marble tablet, is on the south wall by the entrance to the church. The dedication reads: 'To the Glory of God and in sacred and grateful memory of (names). Made the supreme sacrifice for their King & country in the Great War 1914-1918.'
