The memorial was originally in the Primitive Methodist Church, High Street, Arnold, but was moved to its present location in 1968 when the Primitve Methodist church was demolished. Marble tablet, inscription: 'This tablet is placed here to the memory of Pte. Samuel Dove, who died whilst a prisoner of war in Tincourt Hospital, Germany, July 9th, 1918, aged 26 years.'
