Cotham - St Michael's Church

Cotham, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG23 5JS. The memorial is a bronze plaque (15"x21") on a wooden frame. The inscription reads, 'In honoured memory of the men of Cotham who fell in the Great War 1914-1918 (names) They died that we might live.' The church was largely disused from 1966 and the memorial was, apparently, removed to the Old School Room, Newark Road, Cotham, c.1971 as the church was unsafe. The church was declared redundant in 1986 and was placed in the care of The Churches Conservation Trust 1989. The memorial was later reinstalled on the north wall of the nave.
