Hawksworth - St Mary & All Saints

St Mary and All Saints, Main Street, Hawksworth NG13 9DE. The marble tablet, installed c1920, is in the nave, on the north side of the chancel arch. The inscription reads, 'In memory of Lance Corpl. George Howard, York & Lancaster Regt, killed in action at Hooge, France, 9th Augst 1915, aged 37 years, previously served in Imperial Yeomanry in S. Africa & in India. And Pte William Alfred Kerridge, Durham Light Infantry, reported missing 9/10 September 1918, formerly in Army Service Corps. Also Pte Albert Roland Kerride, Norfolk Regt, prisoner of war March to November 1918, died as a result of starvation while prisoner in hospital in London March 18th 1919.'
