The Wesleyan Methodist Church which was at the corner of Main Street and Bridegate Lane, Hickling, closed and the memorial is now in St Luke's parish church (formerly St Mary). Dedication, 'To the glory of God and in honoured memory of the men of this village who fell in the Great War 1914-1918 (names). And the men were very good to us and we were not hurt. They were a wall to us both by night and by day.'
