Newark Methodist Church, Charles Street, Newark NG24 1RN. Two framed, decorated and illuminated Rolls of Honour. ROH 1 inscription: ‘For King and Country. Roll of Honour. Charles Street Wesleyan Mission. Called to Higher Service. Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends. (names of the fallen). Roll of Honour. (Names of those who served in alphabetical order of surname) God Save the King.’ ROH 2 inscription: ; 'For King and Country. Roll of Honour. Charles Street Wesleyan Mission. Roll of Honour. (Names of those who served in alphabetical order of surname.) God Save the King.’ The names of those who served are annotated eg 'wounded', 'prisoner of war'. The two rolls of honour are displayed side-by-side in a corridor adjacent to an emergency exit. Nottinghamshire Archives has two copies of a printed roll of honour (ref. MR. 5/100/1 and MR. 5/100/2).
